Endorsement: Danny Goad for 6th District Chair

I and others here at the VA Social Conservative endorse Danny Goad for chair of the 6th District. He has served with distinction as the Giles County Chair, the Botetourt Vice-Chair, a Hampton School Board member, and as a campaign coordinator. Unlike many in the party, he has been successful in recruiting & training new people. I for one - am proof of this. Through his leadership in the Botetourt party, he has been a beacon for Constitutional principles throughout the 6th district.

Danny Goad will work to hold our elected Representatives accountable to the principles expressed in the Republican Creed. Danny Goad will encourage true conservative Republicans to compete for the nomination against RINO’S and moderate Republicans.

His opponent says she knows no liberal Republicans.

Danny Goad says we need to strongly support PRO-LIFE Legislators like Bob Marshall that sponsor Pro-Life legislation like the “Personhood” bill and find competition for all legislators who say they are pro-life but are pro-life in word only.

His opponent says referring to Republican legislators if you agree with me 80 percent of the time you are my friend and I don’t care if you’re Pro-Choice. This is in spite of the fact two Republicans defeated Bob Marshall’s personhood bill this year in sub-committee.

Danny Goad believes the grassroots can only be effective from the bottom-up not the top-down. Danny Goad takes marching orders from you the citizens and Principles of the Constitution and not the leadership of the party. Danny Goad will make the Sixth District responsive to the Grassroots.

His opponent when questioned about the intention of a politician said, “I know he will do what is best for us. He has our best interests at heart”.

Danny Goad believes the Republican Party is at its best when it is not fearful of mentioning or honoring God our Creator. God has endowed us with our fundamental rights.

Danny Goad promotes the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment was adopted for two purposes: self defense and to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government.
It was not adopted by our Founding Fathers so that we could all go duck or white-tailed deer hunting. If it was adopted to preserve duck hunting, our Founding Fathers would have had an amendment proclaiming our Right to Keep and Bear a Fishing Rod.

This morning's debate was a clear victory for Marco Rubio as he showed why he is the only candidate in this Senate race that can be trusted to go to Washington, stand up to the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Meek agenda and offer a clear alternative. On the other hand, because Charlie Crist had no vision, record or conservative principles to promote, he did what politicians do – distort and attack.

Floridians were able to see the clear policy differences that exist between Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist.

Marco Rubio has a proven record of standing up to liberal agendas: whether it's being a consistent voice against the Obama/Pelosi agenda in Washington DC or stopping Charlie Crist's liberal agenda in Tallahassee by blocking his efforts to expand gambling or stopping the Crist cap and trade mandate.

Now it's time to stand with the ONLY conservative in this race we can trust to stand up to the dangerous liberal agenda happening in Washington right now. Endorsement: Doug Gimbert for Botetourt Chair

Current Botetourt chair, Doug Gimbert is running for re-election. In Gimbert's 4-year tenure as chair, Gilmore was the only candidate to loose the county. The local party has grown considerably under Gimbert's leadership despite his opponent suggesting that we need to get back to growing the party - as if it weren't growing! Gimbert is a principled, constitutional conservative. As such he has done a marvelous job of representing the the grassroots - not power brokers in the party. His role in backing now Senator Ralph Smith v. the incumbent Brandon Bell in the state senate primary showed his willingness to support principle v. an establishment candidate that broke campaign promises. This is courage few men have. It is my opinion, if the party had more men like Gimbert it would be a better place - and so would America! Listen to the debate between Gimbert & Broughton here.

Fimian Vows to Repeal Pelosi-Connolly Healthcare Bill

Fairfax, VA – Keith Fimian, Republican candidate for Congress (VA-11) released the following statement in response to Congress passing the Democrats' healthcare legislation:

"The American people have repeatedly rejected the Democrats' plan to force a government takeover of healthcare and put 1/6 of our nation's economy under government control," Fimian said. "Gerry Connolly has cast his lot with Nancy Pelosi, against the will of his constituents and the American people.

This disastrous healthcare legislation, loaded with backroom deals, special interest giveaways, mandates and $569 billion in tax hikes, will explode an already catastrophic deficit, destroy jobs, and devastate the best healthcare system in the world," Fimian said. "When I am elected to Congress, I will immediately introduce legislation to repeal this bill.

"Republicans offered real solutions to the problems with our healthcare system, but they were rejected. It is clear that Pelosi and Connolly aren't interested in truly fixing problems with our healthcare system, but only in achieving an agenda-driven outcome and declaring a political victory," Fimian added.

The $1.2 trillion price tag includes over $569 billion in tax increases, new taxes on middle class families making $66,000 or more per year, $53 billion in raids on social security, and $200 billion in cuts to Medicare for seniors. It also sends $436 billion directly to insurance companies. The IRS will need to hire 16,500 new workers just to enforce all the new taxes and penalties this legislation will bring.

"Our health care system is the best in the world because it fosters competition, innovation and excellence, and consumers have real choices regarding their medical care. By no means is it perfect, but we should work to improve what we have by addressing wellness, one of healthcare's most central issues, by lowering the cost of insurance through increased competition, by addressing portability, by allowing insurance to be purchased across state lines, and by pursuing tort reform that eliminates frivolous law suits that drive up the cost of medical care," Fimian said. "I look forward to implementing these solutions in Congress and repealing this disastrous legislation Democrats have forced on the American people.
