VA Women, Don't Let Obama and Kaine Reduce you to Birth Control Voters

Throughout this election cycle, Barack Obama and his friend Tim Kaine have made it clear that women only care about birth control. Tim Kaine is running a series of ads entitled Virginia featuring different women upset that George Allen will reduce their access to birth control.



Barack Obama made headlines releasing an ad for women, reminiscent of one by Vladimir Putin, which compares voting for Obama to a woman losing her virginity.


Adding insult to injury, the President's campaign memorably encouraged women to "Vote like your ladyparts depend on it. Because they kinda do."



These are only the highlights of the ongoing Democrat effort this election cycle to define women purely by their ability and desire to have sex.  If you believe it is wrong to stereotype women as people whose primary desires are free birth control and unrestricted abortions, then you should speak out this election cycle. If issues like the economy, unemployment, and the national debt matter to you, then tell Barack Obama and Tim Kaine this election.  Don't let them distract you from their failed record on this issue.  If you are a woman who believes in the sanctity of life and that people who have religious objections to birth control shouldn't be forced to pay for it, Obama's stance on these issues gives you even more reason to make your voice heard this election.  Make sure Obama and Kaine realize that not all women are the same, and tell them to stop insulting women. Watch this entertaining TV ad.  Let's stand together for our future.

Debt Ceiling Deal

While there is definitely much to be wanted in the debt ceiling deal, it was a major step in the right direction. For the first time ever, we had a fight over raising the debt ceiling. This never happened under President Bush even though we raised it quite a few times. While the actual cuts were only a miniscule dent, at least we fought back. Honestly, as much as the deal could have been better, it may be the best we could get while only controlling one third of the legislative process. Hopefully every time there is a debt ceiling or budget vote, we fight hard on the spending issue, and when we take back the U.S. Senate we will force very deep cuts. This is not to say the Republican leadership was amazing, but at least we finally fought. Fighting and forcing conditions for a debt ceiling increase is an improvement and a small victory.

Pray and Work: Jim DeMint and the Earmark Ban

Jim DeMint is leading an effort to push for a ban within the Senate Republican Conference on earmarks. Tony Perkins and FRC are issuing a call to prayer for DeMint as he fights for a conservative senate. RedState has the battle plan for helping DeMint politically.

Are earmarks a way for the legislature to direct how money is spent as opposed to the executive? Yes.

Have they been added to bills regularly to encourage people to vote for bills? Yes.

In this way they lead to excess spending, and need to be banned for now.

Also call Mitch McConnell and let him know he needs to stop fighting against this effort.

For the record earmarks are not the solution to the deficit/spending problem in D.C. They are a key first step, partially symbolic partially meaningful, that must be followed by other things that will eventually culminate in a balanced budget amendment.

President-Elect Obama's Economy Speech: A True Piece of Eleoquence

Today President-Elect Obama delivered a speech on the economy in Fairfax Virginia to advocate his American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.  It was a speech of contradictions.  

The speech was all about the need for big government programs.

If nothing is done (by the federal government), this recession could linger for years.  

It  closed by talking about how this plan will result in increased personal responsibility.

That is why the time has come to build a 21st century economy in which hard work and responsibility are once again rewarded.

It began by talking about how the federal government needs to solve the plan immediately.  

Now, the very fact that this crisis is largely of our (the U.S. Government's) own making means that it is not beyond our (the U.S. Government's) ability to solve. 

It ended by saying that this proposal will not solve the problem addressed.

Now, this recovery plan alone will not solve all the problems that led us into this crisis.

While advocating a bill estimated to cost over 800 billion, Obama talked about the importance of being fiscally responsible.

We cannot have a solid recovery if our people and our businesses don't have confidence that we're getting our fiscal house in order.... Politicians spent taxpayer money without wisdom or discipline, and too often focused on scoring political points instead of the problems they were sent here to solve. 

However he also admitted that there is a considerable short term cost.

There is no doubt that the cost of this plan will be considerable. It will certainly add to the budget deficit in the short-term. 

In other news, China may be unwilling to buy even more U.S. debt.
